Informal care refers to care or other attendance for an older, disabled or ill person in his/her own home by a family member or other person close to the person to be cared for. Support for informal care refers to a package formed by services provided for the person to be cared for according to his/her needs, and a care allowance paid and a leave granted to the carer and services that support informal care. The municipality and the carer make a commission agreement on the provision of informal care.
