    The indicator gives the care periods during the year in outpatient surgery for all patients who have received day surgery (per 1000 inhabitants). The population figures refer to mean population. A period of care is classified as day surgery if its service activity in the Care Register is day surgery, that is, a day surgery procedure was performed on the patient based on a prior agreement. Day surgery does not include procedures performed out-of-hours as an emergency case.
