It includes both short- and long-term care (over 3 months) in the private and public sector (municipalities / joint municipal boards and the State). Institutional psychiatric care is not arranged in the private sector. Mean population is used for population data. Care days during the year include all care days falling within the calendar year. The number of care days is obtained as a difference between the date of departure (or 31.12) and the date of arrival or 1.1), thus excluding the departure day.
