The indicator gives the number of patients during the year in outpatient surgery for all patients who have received day surgery (per 1000 inhabitants). The population figures refer to mean population. A period of care is classified as day surgery if its service activity in the Care Register is day surgery, that is, a day surgery procedure was performed on the patient based on a prior agreement. Day surgery does not include procedures performed out-of-hours as an emergency case.
