The indicator gives the number of pupils enrolled as pre-primary school pupils in municipal pre-primary education on 20 September.Municipalities can provide pre-primary education in schools or in connection with day care, or they can purchase the pre-primary education services from private day care centres or parishes, for instance. Pre-primary education is provided at least 700 hours per year, that is, on average four hours a day. One day shall include no more than five hours of pre-primary education.
