Aineisto kattaa Liikenneviraston ylläpitämän maantieverkon. Mikäli tiellä on ajorataa kohden enemmän kaistoja kuin kaksi, ilmoitetaan siitä tällä tietolajilla. Ramppien kiihdytys- tai hidastuskaistoja ei huomioida, vaan ne lasketaan mukaan rampin pituuteen. Peräkkäisten ramppien muodostama sekoittumiskaista sitä vastoin huomioidaan.
